Different country, different sandwich. Which one in Prague?

Only "chlebíčky" aka open sandwiches!!! The famous old school grab and go food. No famjam, no business meeting, no Christmas, NYE party or celebration is complete without open sandwiches.

Danish smørrebrød, English sandwich without crust, Mexican tortilla, American burger and Czech chlebíčky. Grab and go stuff.

And what is that? Basically a piece of baguette covered with various (mostly unhealthy) toppings - salami, sausages, different cheeses, potato salad, eggs, ham.... Czech people eat enormous amount of these sandwiches every year. I think it´s part of our sort of redneck eating culture. We hardly resist.

Usually you can buy chlebíčky in every deli or in sweet shops (I know that sounds weird). The biggest variety and good quality of chlebíčky you will find in Ovocný světozor sweetshops.
One piece costs around 15 - 30 CZK (0,60 - 1,10 euro)

Vegetarian compatible version of chlebíčky:)
