An outstanding bar I recently visited was called Parlour (= living room). Sort of old fashioned place, hidden under the pavement level with no bar shields, logos or opening hours on a door. Nothing.
Looking closed from outside; dark and easy to pass. You basically must know about the spot. Good old word-of-mouth way... Will not tell you what to expect as I don’t want to destroy the exclusive feeling of unexpected surprise. But if you search for an extraordinary quality, vintage style, best of service and special moments over your drink, check in Parlour.
There are no happy hours offers, no branded glasses, not even blond sexy servers. There are 15 tailor made drinks on a special mixology menu, variety of whisky and rums you most probably never ever seen or tasted + two skilled bartenders with extended knowledge about what they do, serve and love….
I found it a bit disrespectful to take pics in there as the place is pretty dark and using flash would be disturbing the atmosphere - but at least one: great whisky served on a whisky bible, complemented with old style injection full of water you could drop in….
